Delta is committed to helping children get active and stay healthy.
Grade 5 students who live in Delta receive free admission when they attend drop-in skating and swim programs at all Delta parks, recreation and culture facilities. All they need to do is activate their Grade 5 pass. The passes are good from Sept. 1, 2010 to Aug. 31, 2011.
Grade 5 passes are available to Delta residents attending Grade 5 for the 2010-2011 school year. With the pass, they will be able to attend any public skate or swim session for free and they can bring along a person over the age of 13 for free each time they use their pass.
To get the pass started, students bring their birth certificate and proof of address to the customer service office in any of Delta's recreation facilities and have their photo taken for the pass card; they'll be able to swim or skate right away.
Students whose birth year is not 2000 need a note from their teacher or principal affirming enrollment in Grade 5.
The Grade 6 10-admission pass extends the free admission period to Grade 6 students who live in Delta. Students can pick up the free cards at their local recreation facility with proof of Delta residency and birth date and can use the 10 free admissions at any time after issue.
