Celebrate the first day of spring at the Boundary Bay Earthwise Garden by picking up some chemical-free garden care skills from expert instructor Jennifer Ryan.
The Earthwise Society is offering two workshops tomorrow.
Pruning can be confusing, but it can also make a huge difference toward healthy growth and disease prevention for trees, shrubs and vines. Participants in the first workshop will learn the ins and outs of pruning with research-based techniques: what to prune when, where and how.
Bring your own secateurs and loppers to the workshop that will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
From noon to 2 p.m., a composting workshop will explore the most common ways to compost, from the basic backyard pile to worm bins for apartments to microorganism-assisted kitchen composters.
Cost of the pruning session is $20; the composting workshop costs $15 (or $30 for both).
Pre-registration is required for both workshops. Call 604-946-9828 or e-mail info@earthwisesociety.bc.ca.
