Local churches will be getting together for an Ecumenical musical service on Sunday in Tsawwassen.
Tsawwassen. Ten churches are taking part in Lift Every Voice, notes organizer Pat Rogers.
"I wanted to involve as many churches as possible. I think that's important," she says.
The event, to be held at the South Delta Baptist Church, will feature choirs along with individual, trio and quartet performances. There will also be scripture readings.
Rogers says the event is about local churches coming together.
"We have the same central belief. We may have little differences in how we do our services, but it's just important that we all get together."
She notes everyone is welcome to attend.
"You don't have to attend a church to come along, it's going to be quite a wonderful musical evening," Rogers says.
Jeremy Johnson is the music leader at South Delta Baptist and will be leading the singing at the event.
"We're happy to help out and be a part of it as much as we can," he says.
The event has been previously held at Sacred Heart Church and Ladner Christian Reformed Church. It is being sponsored by South Delta Ministerial, a fellowship of local pastors.
Admission is by donation to the Community Fund of Faith. The fund helps out people during tough times.
Lift Every Voice takes place Sunday, April 22 at 7 p.m.
