An arrest warrant was issued Monday for a former Tsawwassen resident facing several sex-related charges after he failed to show up for court.

Jamieson Richard (Rick) Glendinning, who now lives in Vancouver, is facing nine charges, including indecent assault, gross indecency, sexual exploitation and sexual assault, from alleged incidents that occurred several years ago.

He was first arrested by Delta police and charged in September 2010 after three alleged victims came forward. At that time he was facing six charges. In November of that year Glendinning was arrested again and had three more charges added after two more alleged victims contacted investigators.

At the time, Delta police said the victims, which are both males and females, were elementary and high school aged at the time of the alleged assaults.

Glendinning had a long affiliation with Tsawwassen Amateur Baseball Association between 1985 and 1995.

Glendinning's preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 11-13 but a warrant for his arrest was issued after he failed to appear in at Surrey Provincial Court.

Crown prosecutor Winston Sayson said witnesses were brought in from Alberta and other parts of North America for the hearing "at great cost to the taxpayer."

He said that once Glendinning is found, the first order of business will be for the court to determine his status. Sayson said the Crown is expected ask the court to keep him in custody.
