Children are the focus of proceeds from the sale of 2017 Rotary calendars this fall.

Starting this weekend, Rotarians will once again be selling the calendars at food and pharmacy outlets throughout South Delta with 100 per cent of proceeds going to local charities or service projects. The 2017 calendar showcases the community and its heritage through photographs. The calendar is also a lottery, with cash prizes ranging from $100 to $1,000 in weekly draws throughout the year.

"Calendar sales this year will support the final stages of funding for the new Rotary Club of Ladner splash park which we are developing with our partner, the Corporation of Delta, and with the help of various sponsors and donors," says Rotary Club of Ladner president Walt Hayward.

"We hope that construction of the new water play facility for children will be constructed next spring in Memorial Park in time for the summer season. We are grateful to local residents who purchase the calendars with a chance to win a lottery cash prize as a way to contribute to this project which will benefit Ladner and all of Delta."

The calendar's 60 sponsors, which can be seen throughout its pages, pay for the production, printing and lottery prizes.

"That sponsorship allows us to devote 100 per cent of calendar sales to the charities or projects chosen for the year," says Hayward.
