Local bands Lucidity and Liberty are playing a rock concert at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre tomorrow night.

Lucidity's Kyle Hicks notes his band, which plays a hard rock/alternative rock style, will perform mostly original songs with a few covers as well.

The band has played a "decent number" of live shows, including last year's Tsawwassen Sun Festival, opening for the legendary Jerry Doucette at the Tsawwassen Legion and playing at the PNE two years ago.

Hicks, a guitarist and singer, along with guitarist Shane Pogue are from Ladner while drummer Keenan McConkey and bassist Brendan Pearson hail from Tsawwassen.

The local youth bands, with members ranging in age from 14 to 17, competed in the Battle of the Bands in February.

Opening the concert will be Hunter Lang, a 13-year-old guitarist from Tsawwassen who has recently been playing gigs around Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.

The concert takes place Saturday, June 16 at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre, 1172-56th St. Doors open at 7 p.m. with the show starting at 7: 15 p.m. Admission is $4 at the door. Call 604-943-9437 for more information.
