A Pregnancy Loss Support Group meets on the first Thursday of every other month in 2010 (Apr., June, Aug., Oct., Dec.) at 7 p.m. at 202-1624-56th St. Open to women who have experienced an early pregnancy loss to meet other women who have had a similar experience. The Vancouver chapter of the Tourette Syndrome Association is holding a support group meeting at the Ladner Leisure Centre, 4600 Clarence Taylor Crescent, on Saturday, June 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. People with TS or their family members/friends are welcome. It is a great way to get more information and connect with others, it will be very friendly and casual. We have regular meetings in different areas of the lower mainland to accommodate as many people as we can, this will be our first Ladner meeting, so please come.

Join the Delta Nats for our June meeting which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14 in the Cammidge House on Boundary Bay. Our speaker will be Ursula Easterbrook who will speak on her recent trip to the Antarctica. This will include a photographic journey covering Ushuaia, Falkland Island, South Georgia, South Orkneys, and the Antarctic peninsula. Toilet training a child with a developmental delay is often more challenging and may require specialized advice and assistance. Come and learn about preparing for toilet training, toilet training methods, how to progress and meet potential challenges along the way. Join Tom Bearss (604-940-9296) and his group of birdwatchers for a 2.5-hour ramble through Boundary Bay Regional Park on Wednesday, June 16. Meet at Cammidge House at 9 a.m. Enjoy seeing all its resident and migratory inhabitants including shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors and smaller birds. Bring binoculars, if you have them. The outing will end at 11:30 a.m. with beverages and a snack at Cammidge House. No charge for the event, voluntary donation for snacks.

A drop in cancer support group runs every second Thursday until June 17. Anyone who is newly diagnosed with cancer, is in active treatment or has had a recurrence is welcome to attend. The group is held at the Harold and Veronica Centre for Supportive Care at 4631 Clarence Taylor Crescent in Ladner and is facilitated by registered clinical counselor, Gilly Heaps. Running until June 27, the South Delta Artists' Guild presents Design Works. This show emphasizes design and composition in drawing, painting, collage and mixed media. The Delta Music Makers Community Band is looking for all players, but particularly low brass: trombone, baritone horn, French horn and tuba.
