The main stage at Ladner May Days will be busy throughout Saturday and Sunday.

A demonstration from Tactix Gym kicks off proceedings at 10 a.m. Saturday while contestants from this year’s Delta Idol singing competition have been invited to perform at 11 a.m.

The Delta Concert Band, which is about to embark on a two-week playing tour of northern England and parts of Scotland, goes on at 1 p.m.

The local band, made up of more than 45 adult amateur musicians, has been an entertainment fixture in the community for more than 50 years and is recognized as one of the top concert bands in the Lower Mainland.

Cover band None of the Above, which plays classic rock along with some blues and pop tunes, is set to play at 3:30 p.m.

Sunday sees a community worship service at 9:30 a.m. and then the traditional May Pole Dance and Crowning of 2018 May Queen at 1:30 p.m.

The Brookswood Country Band, a talented arrangement of local country musicians, goes on at 3:30 p.m.
