The food options at Ladner Pioneer May Days are expanding this year with a number of new vendors coming to the fair.

Those enjoying the fun at Ladner Pioneer May Days will have plenty of options when it comes to grabbing a bite to eat on the fairgrounds this weekend.

Organizers are really excited about this year’s food trucks for May Days, says food coordinator Khya Fellingham.

She explains that not only are many of the traditional trucks returning such as the grilled cheese truck, mini doughnuts, dim sum and Hunky Bill’s Ukrainian food, but an exciting mix of new vendors are coming this year. They include The Crazy Italian, The Praguery and local restaurant Mario’s Kitchen, which will be bringing its ice cream truck.

“We strive each year to offer a variety of cuisines and pack as many trucks in as possible to give attendees their food of choice,” says Fellingham.

“(The Praguery) features fresh-baked, sweet and savoury chimney cakes inspired by the popular Czech dessert trdelnik, and Prague’s Cones filled with soft-serve ice cream and coated with premium toppings,” its website explains.

There will also be a pancake breakfast on Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Memorial Park gazebo thanks to the North Delta Lions Club.

The “Happy Pioneer Watering Hole” beer garden, put on by the Ladner Legion, goes from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at the pickleball court.
