Ladner's Jenna Grubaugh is part of the cast of Still the Kettle Sings, a new show developed from the ensemble's interviews with older women in their lives.

"(It's a) very unique process to be going through," says Grubaugh, describing it as interesting and illuminating.

She says the group picked out bits from the interviews that struck a chord.

Grubaugh interviewed her grandmother for the show, which is being brought to the stage by Plan Z Theatre Company.

She says the four cast members and crew have all been involved in the creative process.

"Everyone is an equal part of the team, so that's been awesome," she explains.

Grubaugh, a stay at home mom with a three-year-old and a one-year-old, has appeared recently in Stone's Throw Productions' Agnes of God and The Crucible with White Rock Players Club.

Still the Kettle Sings runs July 12 to 15 at 8 p.m. at Pacific Theatre, 1440 W. 12th Ave., Vancouver. Tickets are $20 and available online at brownpapertickets.com or at the door.
