Lorne Koroluk is sharing photos from a long-awaited holiday to Newfoundland with an exhibit at the Ladner Pioneer Library.

“This was a bucket list trip,” he says, noting he and his wife Barbara travelled to the Maritime province in June. It was in their plans to visit for many years, says the 77-year-old.

The show includes pictures of icebergs, puffins and lighthouses.

“Wherever I go, I love shooting pictures,” he says.

He captured the images with a brand new camera.

“I was learning how to use it on the trip,” he says with a laugh, “but it worked out.”

Koroluk, who’s retired from the UBC faculty of education, splits his time between Ladner and Saturna Island.

His show also includes images of butterflies, taken locally as well as at a butterfly centre in Arizona.

The exhibit runs until the end of December.
