The South Delta Probus Club will be getting a little financial insight at its monthly meeting next week.
The meeting features speaker Helmut Pastrick, chief economist for Central 1 Credit Union, the central financial facility and trade association for the B.C. and Ontario credit union systems.
Pastrick leads a department responsible for providing economic analysis and forecasts to credit unions and the public at large.
Prior to joining the Central 1 Credit Union in 1997, he spent many years with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation analyzing and forecasting the housing market and economy.
Pastrick is also a former president of the Association of Professional Economists of B.C., a member of the Canadian Association for Business Economics and the B.C. Economic Forecast Council.
The meeting is set for Wednesday, Nov. 19 at 10 a.m. at the Coast Tsawwassen Inn.
The club's meetings are free and open to both members and visitors.
