Canadians across the country took part in Canada In A Day, including in Tsawwassen where Wallace Avenue residents threw a street party.

With a municipal permit in hand, invitations were sent out and tents were erected on the closed street. Well over 60 people attended the Saturday, Sept. 10 party that stretched from the afternoon into the evening.

Name tags were essential as even though many people know their neighbours by sight, names were a whole different ball game.

Everyone brought an appetizer and beverages - by wheelbarrow, wagon or simply by hand - as well as a couple of chairs, while hot dogs and smokies were on the barbecue courtesy of Marla and Allan.

Horse racing games were held on the street, called by the very capable Rick, while music was supplied by DJ Murray.

Canada In A Day will be a CTV special created entirely from footage made by Canadians in one day. It will be a celebration of Canada for the country's 150th anniversary.
