The Sidekick Players Club will be auditioning its third production of the season, Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun by Canada’s most prolific playwright, Norm Foster, next weekend.

The play will mark the directorial debut for Bernice Fehr, who has appeared in many Sidekick productions and has worked as an assistant director and stage manager on several plays.

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is the touching story of Robert, his mother Claire and his new friend, Holly. Robert is a 35-year-old man with the mental capacity of a seven-year-old, who meets a pregnant young woman, Holly, in crisis, and the two form a friendship that will change their lives forever.

Kiss the Moon, Kiss the Sun is a story about people finding the nerve to take responsibility and about persevering against the odds.

It will run from April 18 to 28 at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre.

Auditions will be held at the arts centre, 1172-56th St., on Sunday, Jan. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. All auditions will be a cold read from the script only. There will be no appointments and auditions will be done on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cast requirements are two males (30s to late 40s), two females (20s to 60s) and male or female (50s).

Fehr will cast according to talent and appearance. If you don’t fit into these age groups but look the age, don’t hesitate to audition.
