A 23-year-old man from Ladner was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle collision on Ladner Trunk Road.

At approximately 11 a.m. Delta police responded to a crash in the 9300-block.

Police believe a vehicle travelling westbound crossed the centre line into the path of an eastbound truck and was struck head-on. The occupant of the westbound vehicle was transported to hospital by an air ambulance but succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.

The driver of the eastbound vehicle was not injured.

Next of kin for the deceased has not been notified and police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time.

Police closed Ladner Trunk Road. It is not expected to re-open until approximately 8 p.m.

The investigation is continuing in an effort to determine any factors that contributed to the tragic collision.
