One resident was recognized this week for his most recent contribution to Delta Hospital.

Al Hollinger, who is a resident of Mountain View Manor, had a desire to help the hospital with nursing education. His donation of $100,000 led to the creation of the Al Hollinger - Joan Rumsey Nursing Education Fund.

The money will be used to help support nursing education by providing resources and training equipment for the hospital's nursing education programs.

"I thank all the nursing staff, all the staff down to the cleaning staff take care of me so why shouldn't I take care of them," Hollinger said.

This isn't the first time Hollinger has made a sizable donation to the hospital. He donated $300,000 for the Forest For Our Future, a peaceful area on the hospital grounds.
