Canucks tickets are big draw at Rotary auction

 

Annual event on Delta Cable raises over $20,000 for local charities

Vancouver Canucks tickets were highly sought after once again at the annual Rotary TV Auction on Delta Cable.

"Everyone loves those," said Rotary Club of Ladner member Jeff Norris.

Tickets to see the Canucks, who were Stanley Cup finalists last year, take on the San Jose Sharks, St.

Louis Blues, Los Angeles Kings and other teams were auctioned off.

Other popular lots in last Saturday's 21st annual auction included gift cer-tificates to local eateries, a motorcycle riding course from Pacific Riding School and gardening items from the Earthwise Society, he noted.

This year's auction raised around $21,000 for local causes, including the Earthwise Society, Delta Life Skills Society, Little House Society and other community projects supported by Rotary.

"All the funds raised stay within Delta," said Norris.

Over $1 million has been raised over the auction's 21year history.

Over 250 items were on the auction block this year.
