January 27 is Family Literacy Day and throughout the week Delta libraries invited special guest readers to share some stories at family storytime.

Delta police chief Jim Cessford and firefighter Todd Shiyukwere at the Ladner Pioneer Library to read stories to a group of youngsters.

Family Literacy Day was developed by ABC Life Literacy Canada to encourage Canadian families to spend at least 15 minutes a day enjoying a learning activity together. This year's theme invites Canadians to take a learning journey.
