The holiday spirit was alive and well in South Delta with several events over the weekend.

The Ladner Business Association kicked things off Friday with the annual tree lighting at the corner of 48th Avenue and Delta Street, which was followed by the children's parade to Ladner Harbour, where the community will welcomed the carol ships.

The festivities continued in Ladner on Saturday morning with the LBA's annual Breakfast with Santa.

The big man in red also made an appearance in Tsawwassen Saturday with the yearly Wake Up Santa event.

Also in Tsawwassen on Saturday afternoon, the Business Improvement Association and the Tsawwassen Shopping Centre hosted the fourth annual Courtyard Christmas, which featured performances by five community choirs.
