Tsawwassen business owner Randy Scott is helping light up the town during the holiday season.

With assistance from employees and a Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association assistant, the owner of Randy's Excel Tire Auto & Service and Bayside Auto Sales took time out on a couple of Sundays to put up Christmas lights in the town core.

"I like having the town nice and pretty so I said I would offer my services to do that - give back to the community," Scott says.

Scott, along with Colin Gibson, Rhys Saran and Hayden Stebeck, put up about 230 strings of lights.

Scott helped start the Christmas lights program at the Tsawwassen BIA when he was vice-president of the group at least a dozen years ago.

The festive lights really add to the town, he says.

"If more shop owners decide to even put up two or three stings of lights on a tree out front or on their building, it would add to it," he says.

Putting up the lights is "my way of saying thanks for people supporting me," he says.
