You decide then and there that your life will never be complete without that silky gloss adorning your lips. It's worth blowing half of this week's grocery budget, right?

Too good to be true, you say?

I put a few Joe Fresh beauty products to the test:

- Makeup bag ($10): This cute, white makeup bag with green trim is a good size for the basics. While you wouldn't be able to fit enough for a long summer vacation, this bag is perfect for the essentials: a few eye shadows, mascara, blush and foundation. There's also a handy zippered compartment underneath the bag for brushes and eyeliners.

- Fine tip liquid eye liner in teal blue ($6): I've always been wary of liquid liners but the Joe Fresh liner passed the test. The brush was easy to use and lasted throughout the day. I also liked the blue tint, a refreshing and exciting option for the summer.

- Eye shadow ($4): There are a handful of bold and exciting colours in the Joe Fresh spring collection. I tried grape and berry and can't wait to use these hot pink and purple shades with my bright summer outfits.

- Eye shadow trio ($6): I tried the spring collection: blossom and spice. The blossom trio has light green and pink shades that are perfect during the day. The spice trio has three brown shades. I'm not crazy about brown eye shadow myself but the three shades give you options, varying from beige to dark brown.

- Lip gloss ($8): I'd be hard-pressed to find a better lip gloss for $8. I tried the peach and candy shades and found both to be pleasant. They were shiny, non-sticky and have a good brush applicator that makes it easy to gloss up in a jiffy.

- Tinted lip balm ($8): The lipstick and lip balm worlds have collided to create a one amazing Joe Fresh lip product! With the smoothness of a lip balm and the punchy colour of a lipstick, the tinted balm has found a permanent home in my purse.

My findings: The Joe Fresh beauty line has good makeup and even better prices. With brushes, glosses, eye shadows, eyeliners, mascara and more for $10 or less, the beauty line provides the basics at reasonable costs. Needless to say, I know where to look the next time a mid-week makeup craving hits.
