A local business suffered extensive damage this week after an early morning fire in the Tilbury area.

Just after midnight on Monday, Delta police responded to a report of a motion alarm being triggered at a business in the 7700-block of Berg Road.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered a fire in a large industrial building. Delta firefighters were called in and extinguished the blaze.

There was extensive damage to machinery in the building as well as smoke damage to the interior of the premises.

Delta police spokesperson Const. Ciaran Feenan said the cause fire does not appear to be suspicious.
