Four Winds Brewing Co. is hosting Cheers for Children, a folk and country music fundraiser to benefit Reach Child and Youth Development Society and local children with special needs.

Set for Saturday, Feb. 3, the event at Harris Barn in Ladner features popular local musicians David Simard, Twin Bandit, and Jack Mercer & The Whiskey Bandits. Beverages will be provided by Four Winds Brewing Co., Steel & Oak Brewing Co., Field House Brewing Co., Brassneck Brewery, Dageraad Brewing and Greenhill Cider. Food will be provided by the Four Winds Taco Kitchen with meat sponsored by Newmans Fine Foods.

In addition, a photobooth donated by Dwayne Girvan Photography will be available.  Visit www.reachdevelopment.org for more information.

Since opening in 2013, Four Winds and the Mills family have been brewing West Coast and European style beer and supporting community organizations such as Deltassist and BC Children’s Hospital. This is the first time the Delta brewery has partnered with Reach.

“It’s exciting for us to involve ourselves in the community that we grew up in and use our platform to help raise awareness and funds for such an admirable organization,” said Four Winds co-owner Adam Mills.

“We’re pleased to have partnered with Reach to bring this one of kind event to South Delta and are anticipating an amazing night of food, music and beer.”

Cheers for Children will benefit Reach’s Building for Children Together campaign, which is culminating next month with the opening of a new children’s centre in Ladner.

Kristin Bibbs, Reach’s development manager, applauded Four Winds for putting on the fundraiser.

“Adam came up with this great event idea during a visit to Reach last fall and the Four Winds team hit the ground running with incredible enthusiasm at the opportunity to support Reach,” said Bibbs. “They have such big hearts and it’s been a pleasure working with them.”
