The following are some of the calls of interest the Delta police responded to in the South Delta area between Wednesday, Jan. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 29:
Tsawwassen
. January 25, 700-block of Tsawwassen Beach Drive: Complainant reported someone had entered his vehicle and stole his driver's licence, two credit cards and a debit card.
There was no damage to the vehicle. The cards were cancelled. A person was caught using one of the cards and charged for unauthorized use of a credit card. The credit cards and driver's licence were added to CPIC.

January 27, 11: 04 a.m., 5100-block of 8A Avenue: Complainant reported they had received a telephone call from a person who pretended to be their grandson, needing money because he had been arrested in Montreal. They don't have a grandson with the name used. A similar call had been made to them earlier this month. The file was concluded as no fraud had occurred, but they wished to have a media release to warn elderly people this is an ongoing problem.
. January 28, 2: 58 p.m., 5900-block of 12th Avenue: An employee of the Beach Grove Golf Club reported that unknown persons had damaged the irrigation system for the 17th and 18th holes. All of the lids and computer controllers were damaged. There is approximately $4,500 damage. There are no witnesses, no video surveillance and no suspects. The file was concluded pending new information.
Ladner
. January 27, 10: 32 a.m., 3900-block of 33A Avenue: Complainant reported their house, which is under construction, had been entered. The garage door and doors to the house had been kicked open. Multiple cordless tools were taken as well as coins in a jar. Estimated value of the tools: $1,000. Value of the coins: $200. Damage to three doors: $1,500.
. January 28, 3: 25 p.m., 4500-block of River Road: Complainant reported someone stole a Brig dinghy with outboard motor from their driveway. The dinghy was on a trailer. A neighbour across the street noticed a suspicious vehicle in the area hook up to the trailer. The driver was a short, thin person (unknown if male or female). Value of stolen items: $21,500. The serial numbers were added to CPIC.
. January 29, 3: 06 p.m., Ladner Leisure Centre: Complainant reported willful damage and theft from his vehicle. He had left the vehicle to go on a hockey road trip, and when he returned he found the driver's door lock punched and the vehicle ransacked. A Canadian passport and keys to a friend's vehicle were stolen. The vehicle was cleaned prior to reporting. The incident was reported for insurance purposes.
