Revive, iPod cases, ReCover, $25.

Vancouver company ReCover has launched a new line of eco-friendly iPod cases. Made of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which a recyclable copolymer combining plastic and rubber, TPE requires less energy to produce than other plastics and the product is said to last a lifetime - no doubt longer than your iPod Nano or iPod Touch. Mino and Mino HD, Flip Video, from $180 US.

There's a new kind of Flip out but you have to go across the border to find it. The Mino HD is billed as the world's smallest HD camcorder, weighing only 3. 3 ounces. In Canada so far it's the larger Flip Ultra at $160 that's on store shelves but the new versions have been released in the States and should be here sometime in the New Year. We've seen the Flips - and Creative's mini video the Vado which is available in Canada, for $100 at Future Shop and other electronics retailers - being used for everything from sharing fun videos online to video blogging for business people (http://www.theflip.com).

Motonav T30, Motorola $300.

If your car doesn't have a built-in GPS, this item from Motorola tracks where you are going and it lets you talk on the phone at the same time. With its Motonav T30, Motorola has combined a GPS system with hands-free in-car calling - it even knows enough to quiet its directions while you're on a call. DMP-BD35 Blu-ray player, Panasonic, $350.

Televisions and Blu-ray players are flying off store shelves this holiday season - suggesting either some people still have money to spend in the hard- hit economy or everyone is opting for home entertainment instead of going out to the movies. Panasonic's DMP-BD-35 and the DMP-BD55 (at $450) incorporate Panasonic's UniPhier processor.
