A Delta medical marijuana grow operation has been given the go-ahead to sell directly users.

Zenabis announced this week that it received a sales license from Health Canada which will allow the company to sell medicinal cannabis online at zenabis.com to registered medical patients across the country.

The company is authorized to sell cannabis to patients registered under the Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations a wide range of cannabis products out of its facility.

“Receiving our sales license is a major milestone for Zenabis and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. With our sales license, Zenabis can now provide high-quality strains of cannabis to ACMPR patients ahead of legal adult use and retail sales,” said Kevin Coft, CEO of Zenabis, in a news release.

Zenabis was formerly called International Herbs Medical Marijuana Ltd.

Last year, Health Canada approved a cultivation license for the firm for a 25,000-square-foot “state-of-the-art facility” on Annacis Island.

The company has been working on the application for more than three years and its Delta location was to be the first of its two facilities to acquire a cultivation license to produce medical marijuana.

Its other facility is located in Atholville, New Brunswick, and has about 380,000 square-feet of cultivation space.

Although Delta’s revised zoning does not allow marijuana dispensaries to set up stores in the city, that restriction does not apply to companies growing product here to conduct online sales.
