I applaud Delta council for not getting on the Blue Dot bandwagon, which I see as Dr. David Suzuki’s last hurrah before he rides off into the sunset.

However, it will certainly go a long ways to giving his foundation, which in essence is a tax-exempt corporation, a lot of airtime and a lot of financial benefit. It’s highly unlikely it will accomplish more than Vancouver’s proclamation of being a nuclear-free zone.

His real accomplishments have long faded from most people’s memories.

It might be a bit more credible if Suzuki practices what he preaches. His footprint on the planet is huge; large family; large home in Point Grey, one on Quadra Island, Toronto and Australia; corporate offices in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal; jetting all around the world.

Just think of the massive amount of fossil fuel that went into the atmosphere just to cover the promotional tour across Canada for him, his entourage and celebrities, most of whom don’t fly commercial economy.

Do a bit of homework and read about the man and his company someplace other than his websites.
