Delta police were called out to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal over the weekend after a suspicious package was discovered on a ferry.
Officers were dispatched to the ferry terminal at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday after B.C. Ferries staff called to report the discovery of a suspicious looking package on a ferry enroute from Swartz Bay.
Passengers were off loaded and the RCMP bomb squad arrived to investigate. Officers at the scene determined that the package was not an explosive device and did not pose any danger.
Two afternoon sailings were cancelled due to the incident but service resumed as normal at 7 p.m.
The incident is still under investigation.
