Delta is spending over half a million dollars on parking lot improvements underway at Dugald Morrison Park.

Delta council already approved the expenditure of almost $532,000 that includes expansion of parking and an access road adjacent to the Ladner park. The project also includes storm water improvements, a sidewalk as well as additional stalls for the adjacent Delta Police Department.

It was just two years ago when Dugald Morrison Park saw the grand opening of an artificial turf playing field, part of the Ladner Sports Field Enhancement Project.

The park upgrade included an older baseball diamond being converted

to a synthetic turf field and sized to accommodate soccer, field hockey, field lacrosse and softball. The parking was also reconfigured.

The project also included a field house, which was partially funded by sport user groups.

The project at the time cost approximately $3.5 million with the field house alone costing around $700,000.
