The Ladner man who went missing early Saturday was found dead Monday afternoon.
The search for 87-year-old Edward Lysyk came to an end at around 3 p.m. Monday after his body was found in a field not far from the 3800-block of Arthur Drive, where he was last seen. His body was found by a police helicopter conducting an air search of the area.
"At this time, Delta police do not believe that foul play is involved in this investigation," said Delta police spokesperson Const. Ciaran Feenan.
Police and the B.C. Coroners Service is currently investigating to determine the cause of death and an autopsy is scheduled for later this week.
Lysyk was reported missing from a local care home on Saturday. He was last seen at around 3 a.m. that day after being returned to his room for the night.
"When Mr. Lysyk could not be located at the residence throughout the day, staff from the care home called police as they were concerned for his well being," Feenan said.
He had recently moved to Ladner from Richmond.
