The City of Delta will soon be replacing several of its community monument signs in both South Delta and North Delta.

On Monday night, civic politicians gave final approval to the project, which has been on the books since 2015.

The project calls for the removal of the “Welcome to sunny Tsawwassen” sign on 56th Street. Delta will work with the Tsawwassen Business Improvement Association on an appropriate location and potential redesign of the sign, which will be installed in the business core.

A new Tsawwassen sign will be installed on 56th Street to replace the relocated sign.

A new North Delta sign will be installed on 72nd Avenue just east of Highway 91 facing eastbound traffic.

According to a Delta staff report, the project should be complete by the fall with the cost - $125,000 – to come from council contingency funds.
