Night market returns to Ladner for a third year

Aug. 18 event to once again benefit Delta Hospice

The Heart of Ladner Night Market, a fun event for the whole family, will return for its third year later this month.

Set for Saturday, Aug. 18 from 4 to 9 p.m., the street market is back due to the strong outpouring of community support, according to organizer Michael Rudd.

Proceeds will once again support the work of the Delta Hospice Society.

"We are delighted at the outpouring of support by sponsors, vendors, night market volunteers and the community and look forward to another successful year," says Rudd.

Vendors at this year's Ladner Night Market will include Sunflower Cards, Bella Photography, Hair Candy Accessories, Urban Rack, Blink Kinds, Open Space Yoga, Maison Cote Spices, Emma Lea Farms and more.

Billie's Barbershop will be doing brush cuts for $5, with money raised going to Delta Hospice. There will also be Art in the Village featuring local artists presented by the Upstart Crow.

In addition to the over 25 vendors participating in the evening, there will also be face painting, a bouncy castle, Buggy Babies and Yoga, and a clown, says Alisha Roddam, one of the event organizers.

"This is a family-friendly event for all ages," she says.

Nancy Macey, executive director of the Delta Hospice Society, says, "We are so pleased that members of the community have come together to create a summer event that everyone can enjoy."

Sponsors include Budget Foods, Scotiabank Ladner, Fraser Elliott Real Estate, Century Group, Ladner Massage Therapy, the Harlow & Mary Ann Burrows Foundation, Anju's Skincare & Electrolysis, Elite Repeat Too and Better Still Day Spa.
