Liberal candidate Ian Paton Tweeted about meeting actor Jason Alexander Monday.

Could it be the summer of Ian [Paton] during Tuesday’s provincial election?

That will be up to the voters of Delta South, but it certainly was the summer of George [Costanza] on Monday morning in Ladner.

A big-time Seinfeld fan who saw every episode of the comedy series multiple times, Liberal candidate Ian Paton told the Optimist Jason Alexander came to his East Ladner farm to check out locations the actor will be using for a new comedy series called Hit the Road. One scene will be filmed next month in Paton’s barn.

“I couldn’t even imagine how many famous scenes George did in Seinfeld over the years. So it was really fun meeting him. He’s a super friendly guy,” said Paton.

Also a huge fan of Seinfeld creator Larry David and the comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm, Paton said Alexander’s new series is about a washed-up travelling rock group whose bus breaks down outside of a farm, which will be Paton’s farm.

He said Alexander even offered to take a photo with him at his election sign.

“It was quite a thrill for me to meet one of the Seinfeld idols,” he added.
