It’s offering shoppers a “thrill of the hunt” experience.

Late last year, a lot of buzz began in the B.C. retail scene when Saks OFF 5TH announced it’s opening a 32,700-square-foot outlet store that will be one of the anchor tenants at Tsawwassen Mills. It’s the first foray for the retailer into this province and one of several stores the retailer announced it’s opening across the country as part of a big expansion.

The expansion for the retailer, part of the Hudson’s Bay Company portfolio, also includes new outlets at Vaughn Mills in Ontario and CrossIron Mills outside Calgary, two mega malls that Tsawwassen Mills will resemble.

When the CrossIron Mills location opened earlier this month, the retail chain noted shoppers can look forward to a compelling lineup of more than 800 brands and an ever-evolving selection of luxury designer fashion - all at up to 60 per cent off.

Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH notes its stores are aesthetic, featuring an open, modern layout and playful graphic elements in an easy-to-shop “treasure hunt” environment. With new arrivals shipped to the store nearly every day, customers will discover new merchandise on every visit, including sought after brands and one-of-a-kind designer finds for men, women and children.

Jonathan Greller, president of Outlets, HBC, said they are looking forward to bringing the OFF 5TH experience to the Canadian consumer.

“As we continue to grow our off-price business, we will announce more new Saks OFF 5TH locations in major markets across Canada,” he said.

Expect a big crowd as Tsawwassen Mills celebrates its grand opening on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
