The marketing campaign is ramping up for the major retail destination mall opening in a little over a month in South Delta’s backyard

Tsawwassen Mills shopping centre says it’s thrilling “shoppers” again today with a give away of hundreds of free designer bags, shoes and clothes from a surprise Burrard Skytrain station pop-up shop.

Approximately 400 surprised people received free merchandise during the store’s “opening” on Wednesday and Thursday. The pop-up shop will open its doors for a final time at Burrard station at 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

The pop-up shop is a sneak preview into the “Love Everything About It” campaign leading up to Tsawwassen Mill’s Oct. 5 opening. The temporary structure was set up in the plaza area of Burrard station and opened for business at a different time on each of the days until all of the merchandise was claimed. The free items, which included a range of men’s and women’s fashions in Tsawwassen Mills’ signature red, black and white colours, were curated from retailers who will be part of Tsawwassen Mills. According to Tsawwassen Mills, more than 100 excited people were already in line this morning to visit the pop-up shop.

“We’re thrilled to notice the immediate enthusiasm and curiosity people have expressed for our pop-up store,” said marketing director Kristina Shier.  “We think that people are really going to love everything about the rest of our promotions, contests and giveaways between now and grand opening on October 5.”

During September, a Tsawwassen Mills pop-up trailer will travel to eight locations throughout the Lower Mainland, providing an opportunity to learn more about the shopping centre and its retailers, participate in contests, and win free prizes.

Located at the corner of Highway 17 and 52nd Street in the Tsawwassen First Nation, the Ivanhoe Cambridge project will be mostly a fashion-oriented centre with a mix of outlet and other retailers, but it will also have a wide range of other products and services.

Separated by a new road called Canoe Pass Way, the 1.2 million square foot mall will have Tsawwassen Commons as a neighbour. That 550,000-square-foot new outdoor mall will feature about a 100 retailers.
