A pair of work sheds were completely gutted following an early morning fire in Tsawwassen Friday.

Delta firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire in the 300-block of 54th Street just after 4 a.m.

When fire crews arrived, they found two work/storage sheds at the back of the home fully engulfed in flames with two other sheds on the adjacent property also in jeopardy.

“Once we arrived and our guys accessed the backyard they quickly had the fire knocked down,” said Capt. John Burr. “Other than some burned siding and some damage to the roof, the other two sheds on the adjacent property are intact, so it was a good save.”

Burr said there were reports from neighbours of flames and smoke some 30 feet in the air.

He the homeowner used the two sheds for storage and as a work area and storage for ATVs and seadoos and small lawnmowers.

“We had our investigator on scene, but at this point cause is undetermined. The point of origin has not been located yet,” said Burr.

A total of 16 firefighters were on scene battling the blaze.
