I was shocked when I got to the bottom of the Fred Gingell Park stairs Wednesday morning to see the volume of garbage scattered along the beach in both directions.
Beer cans, cooler cans, bottles, pizza boxes, juice containers, plastic straws ... all within 15 metres of a municipal garbage can and a "Do Not Litter" sign. The litter completely filled a large black garbage bag that I had with me.
Come on people, show some respect for your fellow citizens, and for our beautiful beaches and parks. Don't leave your garbage lying around. Please pick it up and pack it out.
