Lack of towers in Tsawwassen is refreshing

When we drive home to Tsawwassen from the city an impressive landscape dominated by tall trees comes into view. Very refreshing to leave the dozens of high-rise towers in Vancouver and Burnaby behind!

The Century Group currently has a development application for a six-storey mixed use building at Tsawwassen Town Centre. However, Century's longterm "vision" for TTC includes a 12-to 20-storey residential tower (as reported in Oct. 5, Delta Optimist). I am fine with controlled densification in the TTC area achieved responsibly through four to six-storey buildings and townhouses. A 12-storey or higher building, however, is completely out of character for Tsawwassen and would be a disturbing change to the quality of our community.

We do not need highrises that dominate the landscape.

Any building over six storeys is considered a high-rise. Please, as we treasure our beautiful community, let there be firm controls by Delta council on renewal and densification and no high rises in Tsawwassen!
