Mahara Sinclaire has written a guidebook on retirement.

The Ladner resident released The Laughing Boomer: Retire from Work -- Gear up for Living! earlier this year.

"Basically it's a book about ... all your dreams you've had all your life and making them into a reality," she says.

She has a book signing Saturday at Black Bond Books at Trenant Park Square in Ladner from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sinclaire, a retired educator and former member of the Delta Music Makers band, covers topics like values, interests, relationships, travel and even going back to work in the book.

"I wrote about all the things you need to take into consideration. Not just about the money, but your values and all the things you want to do with your life."

Sinclaire has been travelling -- visiting close to 50 countries -- in the almost three years since retiring.

She started working on the book, which is geared toward baby boomers, while she was still teaching at Langara College. She says the idea of retirement was a hot topic of conversation with her friends.

Sinclaire also has an appearance at Tsawwassen's Albany Books on Sept. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m.
