The Beach Grove Golf Club's annual Junior-Junior Camp was another huge success with 85 youngsters participating.
The camp is in place to give kids between the ages of four to 11 an introduction to the game. The four days of lessons includes putting, chipping, iron and wood play. At the conclusion of the week, each junior is presented with a golf club.
"I am thrilled with how the camp went this year. All kids had an outstanding time and enjoyed what we had to offer", says Beach Grove Head Golf Professional Brent Derrheim. "By giving the opportunity to provide kids with clubs, it keeps them interested in the game.
"The excitement in the air is very gratifying when they receive their clubs and their favorite treat-.freezies."
He adds the program continues to receive great support from the membership and volunteers.
This year's camp made a donation to a local charity - the Hannah's Heroes Foundation. "It is an honor to be partnered with the Hannah's Heroes charity this year," continued Derrheim. "Any time you can assist with a worthy cause, it really adds an extra element to the program."
Derrheim suggests to call early to register for the 2013 camp. "We want to ensure we are able to cater to all juniors so it is best to register early," he added.
