The North Delta Devils are heating up as the Pacific International Junior B Hockey League season heads into the home stretch.
The Devils won all three of their games in the past week, beating Mission 7-3 on Thursday (Jan. 19) and Ridge Meadows 3-2 Saturday before knocking off the rival Delta Ice Hawks 5-3 in Ladner Tuesday.
Even with the flurry of wins, the Devils remain in third place in their division, three points back of Delta with the Ice Hawks holding two games in hand.
In Ladner Tuesday, Devils goalie Harry Fredeman stopped 32 shots to earn first star honours in backstopping North Delta to the win. After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, Fredeman allowed just one goal over the final 46 minutes of play.
Colin Catchpole, Julian Feijo, Jacob Wensley, Michal Urbaniak and Robert Lacis provided the goals for North Delta.
Saturday at Sungod Arena the Devils came from behind to douse the Ridge Meadows Flames 3-2.
North Delta overcame onegoal deficits on two occasions before Julius Ho bagged the game winner in the third period. Stephen Campbell scored once and set up a pair to lead the Devils while Wensley potted the other North Delta marker.
North Delta began the weekend in Mission where they hammered the host Icebreakers 7-3, thanks to a three-assist night from Matthew Tilton.
Catchpole, Lacis, Campbell, Feijo, Tyler Hobbs, Stefan Burzan and Eben Norman each scored once for North Delta.
The Devils are back in action Saturday when the Icebreakers come to Sungod Arena for a 6: 45 p.m. game.
