Tom Robson's stock continues to soar as the top 2011 high school baseball prospect in the country -- this time pitching for Canada at the World Junior Championships in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
The 17-year-old from Ladner was superb -- pitching six scoreless innings in last Saturday's 3-0 loss to Cuba.
Robson got the start and held the Cuban batters off-balance all night by displaying command of three pitches. The Ladner Minor Baseball product says he fed off the energy from the crowd of over 4,000.
"Naturally I was pretty pumped up with all the fans. It was a really good environment to play in."
He allowed just three hits and no walks, while striking out four.
"Tom threw outstanding," said Canada head coach Greg Hamilton. "He's young and you don't know how he's going to handle the environment, so we're real pleased with the effort that he gave us."
