A hectic month for Tsawwassen rugby standout Jarvis Dashkewytch begins this weekend as a member of Canada’s U18 team competing at the Rugby Sevens Youth Olympic Qualifier in Las Vegas.

The Grade 12 student, who attends the Canadians Sports School in Victoria, will then suit up for Team B.C. at the U18 National Sevens Championships before being back in national team colours again at the end of the month for a 15s tour in Hong Kong.

In Vegas, he will be trying to help Canada get past United States, Jamaica and Barbados in a round-robin style tournament. The winner will be crowned on Saturday, before the start of the HSBC Las Vegas Sevens.

Dashkewytch is one of three B.C. players on Canada’s 12-player roster.

The Hong Kong tour is slated for March 19 to April 1. Canada is slated to play three matches against Hong Kong’s U19 national team.

Dashkewytch is one of four B.C. players on the 28-man roster.
