Fresh off their victory at the Can Am Tournament in Abbotsford, the Ladner Red Sox head to Cloverdale for B.C. Baseball's 11U Mosquito AAA Tier One provincial championships.

The Ladner Red Sox AAA Tier 1 Mosquito all-stars head to provincials in Cloverdale this weekend with plenty of momentum.
The Red Sox have been playing some rock solid baseball of late as they took home the gold medal at the Abbotsford Can Am tournament.
With the combination of very solid pitching, timely hitting, and excellent defence, Ladner knocked off teams from Cloverdale, Victoria, North Shore, and Richmond. The Sox then took down Maple Ridge in the final to secure the championship. It was a complete team effort.
The boys are having a great summer of ball and will be one of the top two seeds at the provincials which conclude on B.C. Day. Amazingly, they have only allowed 23 runs in six league games, with no other team coming close.
“I am so thankful to have such a talented group from having only to choose from such a small number of kids. Other big associations have well over a 100-plus kids. Ladner had around 60 and only about 15 tried out this year,” said head coach Sean MacDonald. “I am proud that we are one of the top teams at the AAA level but am more proud of the fact that we have the lowest runs against average out of any team. It shows that we have very deep pitching and high level of defense.”
The Red Sox roster consists of Ryley Ferguson, Nash Johnson, Aksel Van Tol, Lukas Oldham, Ben Lakeland, Macin MacDonald, Nathan Kirkbride, Taylor Pearce, Oliver Melnychuck, Matthew Cushing, Riley Hamilton, and Owen Cooper.
“I am very fortunate to be part of this group, alongside some awesome defense, it’s nice to see the light switch has turned on at the plate and we are firing on all cylinders,” added McDonald. “We’ve hit five home runs in our last three games over the fence, simply amazing!”
Rounding out the coaching staff are assistants Andrew Ferguson and Ron Pearce.
