Delta Hospital's emergency department will be getting a Triple Lumen IV pump after the Every Penny Counts campaign reached its $10,000 goal.

With the overwhelming support of the community and countless rolling hours, over 50 volunteers were on hand as the millionth penny was rolled last Thursday. Envision Financial staff members were joined throughout the spring and summer by over 50 Delta Secondary students and community volunteers in the rolling efforts.

"It is so exciting to see the Every Penny Counts campaign meet its goal," said Cindy Tudge, personal account manager at Envision Financial. "Envision is committed to making a meaningful difference in our local communities, which is why we're proud to be supporters of this initiative to raise funds for Delta Hospital Foundation."

"Thursday's roll-a-thon would not have been such a success without the amazing contributions from Envision [Financial], the DSS students, or the Ladner Legion," said Veronica Carroll, Delta Hospital Foundation executive director. "We rolled and bagged almost $2,500 in pennies. That's 250,000 individual pennies."

The foundation has officially stopped accepting pennies. Any penny donations can now be dropped off at the Ladner branch of the Royal Canadian Legion for its poppy campaign. The annual poppy campaign raises money for various local charities, including the Delta Hospital Foundation, over the fall and winter.

In complex cases at the hospital, patients might need more than one medication administered at once. The Triple Lumen IV pump can administer up to three medications at a time with greater flexibility and with less stress on the patient.
