A local man is facing possible impaired driving charges after a hit and run in a Tsawwassen parking lot.

Police were called to a parking lot in the 1200-block of 56th Street after a woman reported that her vehicle has just been struck and she believed that the driver of the other vehicle was intoxicated. The man fled on foot before officers arrived at the scene, however, investigators quickly located the 52-year-old at his residence just as a taxi was dropping him off.

The man was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters where be provided breath samples to investigators. He was subsequently released on a promise to appear in court at a later date. Impaired driving charges are pending.
