Suspect in custody after fatal TFN stabbing

 

 
 
 

Police have a 17-year-old suspect in custody after a fatal stabbing on Tsawwassen First Nations land Friday night.

A 16-year-old girl is dead and a 15-year-old girl is in critical condition after police were called to a home in the 1700-block of Tsawwassen Drive just after 10 p.m. Friday.

Officers arrived at the scene to discover the two girls suffering from stab wounds lying on the ground.

Both were treated at the scene and transferred to hospital. The older girls succumbed to her injuries while the other victim remains in critical condition but is expected to survive.

Early Saturday morning, police said investigators were looking for a known suspect who was also known to the two victims.

At about 11 a.m. Saturday, officers took a 17-year-old male into custody without incident, said Delta police spokesperson Const. Ciaran Feenan.

The identities of the victims and the suspect have not been released.

Feenan said charges of second degree murder and attempted murder are pending.
