B.C. woman wins $1.8-million PNE Prize Home (PHOTOS)

What a prize!

We now know who won the PNE's 2021 Prize Home.

The South Surrey house, valued at $1.8 million, was the top prize in the annual Prize Home Draw; this year's winner is Connie Thompson of Williams Lake. In the first time in the draw's 87-year history the home was built away from the PNE fairgrounds in East Vancouver.

The 4-bedroom/4.5 bathroom home is just a few minutes from area beaches and neighbours McNally Creek. There's also a home gym and media room. It includes new appliances, an electric vehicle charger and a heat pump.

"This year, more than 733,000 tickets were sold to guests of the Fair, as well as by phone and online," says the organization in a press release. "Proceeds from the lottery support a variety of non-profit programs at the Pacific National Exhibition, including agriculture, community, educational incentives, arts and a large number of other local efforts."

Along with the prize home a number of other prizes were handed out yesterday, including $869,205 in the 50/50. Wayne Canessa of Surrey was the lucky winner there.
