Talk about a once in a lifetime trip. The eight man team with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association stopped at Mile Zero Friday to break down their week driving to Tuktoyaktuk.

“It was a miracle. We are very blessed,” said Rashid Ahmed about the 2,800 km trip. One way.

The quick trip to dip their feet in Arctic Ocean was not without peril. A couple sets of tires blown, and they abandoned their RV on the way up after problems.

“It was certainly a once in a lifetime trip,” said Naveed ul Islam, National Director of Outreach with AMYA.

The mission, made up of men from Saskatoon and Toronto, started from Edmonton Sept. 20.
