Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. CFO Meng Wanzhou will apply to loosen her bail conditions in January, the court heard at her extradition hearings session Wednesday.

Meng’s lawyers did not go into details of what the exact change to her bail conditions the defence is seeking, but attorney Mona Duckett did note it involves “the daytime supervision of Ms. Meng outside curfew hours.”

Crown lawyer John Gibb-Carsley said the Attorney General of Canada has not seen the application, but they anticipate not agreeing to changing bail conditions as they were set in 2018.

Thus, the B.C. Supreme Court is anticipated to hear the argument for and against the application in January - although it is currently unclear if Associate Chief Justice Heather Holmes would be presiding like she is doing for the main extradition hearing process.

Beyond the bail conditions application, the extradition hearings will resume on March 1 of next year.
